  • Internet Explorer 6+
  • FireFox 3.6+
  • Safari 5+
  • Chrome 7+
  • Opera (See Search Function FAQ for more info)

*Although TDC will work with the vast majority of modern web browsers available  in the UK market please note different versions may work better than others.  We would recommend as a rule that the latest update/version of the Browser is used.

Please feel free to email any issues you experience with Web Browsers to tdc@ricoh.co.uk

Inbuilt Search Functionality

The inbuilt search function will not operate on any version of Opera, to search on this browser please use the application search functionality.
Other browsers have been tested and they all operate within acceptable bounds. If you have any issues with this function please use the contact page to tell us of any issues.

General Issues with Browsers

For full site operation, if prompted, please allow scripts to run. This is primarily for Internet Explorer.

The Menu pages use JavaScript as a rule the newer the version of the Browser the better the JavaScript performance it has which results in TDC running faster.

With the links with in side the Manual PDF’s some users have had problems in the past in particular with Internet Explorer some users have found this issue does not occur when using Adobe reader X.

Things to be aware of when installing TDC

Please ensure that you have 20 minutes or so per DVD install available. If you don’t have time to load both DVDs at once then simply load the core DVD and then come back and load the Optional DVD when you can. It will mean you will not have the entire range of Ricoh Manuals but will have the most frequently used by the typical Ricoh Engineer.

Ricoh Uk Technical Support advise you have a HDD which has been recently defragmented and ensured you have a updated version of Adobe acrobat version 8 or higher installed. Other PDF readers may work but have not been tested by Ricoh UK Technical support.

Please be aware the default folders were set to the same on the Core and Optional so they end up in one big folder. Please do either change both to the same when you load or neither.

When installing the optional DVD on to a Vista or Win 7 PC you may see an error message due to the

We have had a few people have Issues with Vista and Windows installs and others sailed though depending on their configuration of PC.

Basically on the optional DVD the file is updating the uninstall file and because its in the program file section you need to run as admin..

Try running the optional DVD as Admin (right click the icon and select). This should fix the issue as standard Windows 7 user permission’s do not allow for changing items loaded into the Program Files directories.

If you are not running Windows 7, the same issue is applicable for Windows Vista although from our experience due to the size of the file when you right click on Vista with UAC activated the computer will go off and think about it for 10 minutes or so. We have found it is simpler to switch of UAC for the period of the install which speeds up the process by a great deal and then switch back on after the install is complete.
